49 (15) & 2-37: Abhishek Sharma gets Shubman Gill in stellar all-round showing in state T20 league
**Abhishek Sharma's All-Round Masterclass Sends Falcons Tumbling** What a night for Abhishek Sharma in the SherEPunjab T20 League! The India T20I opener produced a complete all-round masterclass as Amritsar Soormas beat Shubman Gill's Fazilka Falcons on Monday. **With the ball first** Gill looked in sublime touch, leading from the front with a brisk 67 off 35 balls—8 fours and 3 sixes. He had Abhishek on the back foot early, launching two sixes and a four off the left-arm spinner's 10th over. But hubit caught trouble—holed out at deep midwicket to Naman Dhir while trying for a third six. Abhishek finished with tidy figures of 2 wickets for 23 in his 4 overs, having also sent Anshul Chaudhary back to the pavilion. The Falcons were left stranded at 92/3 after 10 overs. **With the bat, even better** Chasing 192, Abhishek set Soormas alight with a blistering 49 off just 15 balls—6 fours and 4 sixes. Ironically, it was Gill who caught him off right-arm quick Garv Kumar on the last delivery of the powerplay. But Soormas had already raced to 79 by then. Rahul Kumar sealed it with an unbeaten 53 off 35 balls, finishing the game with 3 balls and 4 wickets to spare. **Points table** Soormas remain bottom with 2 wins in 5 matches, while the Falcons sit 4th with 3 wins and 3 losses.
