Ben Stokes bamboozled by India spinners in consecutive county games

**Stokes Baffled Again by Indian Spinners – Chahal & Kishore Strike in Back-to-Back County Games** Former England skipper Ben Stokes has once again fallen victim to Indian spinners, this time getting bowled back-to-back by Yuzvendra Chahal and R Sai Kishore in consecutive County Championship fixtures. Since hanging up his international boots after the NZ Test series earlier this summer, Stokes has kept busy on the domestic circuit with Durham, putting in solid all-round showings. But the lefthanded bat seems properly bamboozled by the turners. **First blood to Chahal** against Northants saw the leggie produce a real beauty — pitching well outside off and turning a mile to breach Stokes' front-foot defence for a modest 14. Stokes looked stunned by the amount of turn. Chahal finished with 4/36 as Durham were bundled out for 205, with Alex Lees, Kasey Aldridge and Matthew Potts also sent packing. **Not a new story for Stokes** — this was his second consecutive bowled dismissal to an Indian spinner. In Durham's prior clash with Gloucestershire, left-arm spinner Kishore bowled a peach to castle him while he was well set on 45 (7x4, 1x6). Frustration boiled over and the bat went flying that day too. Earlier this season, Stokes also departed to Kuldeep Yadav vs Yorkshire in the ODI Cup — making it three Indian-spin dismissals in total. **The bigger picture though** — don't let these blips fool you. Stokes is in genuinely fine form with the bat: 332 runs in seven innings at 55.33, three fifties, plus 15 wickets at 23.13 with a five-for. So a tiny glitch against the spinners, but far from a concern. Source: Wisden
