Vadodara Hosting 2027 Women’s Champions Trophy Games Is Well Deserved, Says BCA CEO Parikh

By Pramit Meher

**Vadodara lands inaugural 2027 Women's Champions Trophy — and BCA's Parikh says it's well earned** 👏 The ICC has named **Vadodara Int'l Stadium (Kotambi)** and Mumbai's **Brabourne** as cohosts of the first-ever 6-team **Women's Champions Trophy**, running **Feb 14–28, 2027**. BCA CEO **Snehal Parikh** says the pick is "well deserved" — the venue has quietly built a strong track record staging domestic + int'l fixtures, with praise from officials, India players, and even the greats (Tendulkar, Lara) for its wickets & outfield. **Why India?** Sri Lanka was stripped of hosting rights over gov't interference in its board admin. The ICC then ran a global assessment, weighing bids from India, Bangladesh & South Africa before landing on us. Top 6 women's **T20I** sides confirmed: **Aus, Eng, Ind, NZ, SA, SL.** **Venue watch:** Located ~30km out of Vadodara off the Harod-Halol-Vadodara highway, Kotambi hosted its first int'l match in **Dec 2024** (Ind-WWI women's ODI), then a men's ODI vs NZ in Jan this yr. It's already booked solid — a 3-match women's **ODI** series vs Zimbabwe on **Oct 23/25/28**, plus India women's **U19 T20/I** vs England U19 on **Nov 26/28**. Solid foundation for a tournament that finally gives our women stars a marquee stage. 🏏 Source: Cricketnmore
